Religion has a great influence in the main cultural manifestations of the Minas Gerais’ people especially at the traditional folklore parties, in arts and handicraft. Wood pieces, soapstone, natural fibers, silver and semi precious stones show a hard work and creative people. The architect and sculpture Antônio Francisco Lisboa, the famous “Aleijadinho” of Minas Gerais’ baroque period, is an eternal inspiration for these people. The suite shows a richness of handicraft details and the strength of the people’s faith, represented at saints’ images and religious symbols.
