With a village atmosphere, Armação beach is one of the main artisanal nuclei fishing of the island. A few parts have good waves, which attracts a lot of surfers. The boat to Campeche’s island leaves from this beach.

Its name means “trap for whales”. Is one of the main artisanal nuclei fishing of Santa Catarina’s island, and it also locates one of the most important archeological farms of the state. Even with a good quality of waves is not dangerous for bathing. It has well known restaurants located at the square, named after the centenary azorean chapel of 1772 and built by Armação’s fishing company. It was there that the harpooners and the crew members confessed and listen to the mass before the fishing starts, then the priest went down and blessed the boats that were going to the sea. From the original church almost nothing is left, although it conserves a lot of characteristics of the 1838’s improving. Another improve, made in 1948, changed completely the main entrance of the building.
The summer heat increases the options of bars and night clubs, with new inns and restaurants. From Armação leave the boats to Campeche’s island, one of the most visited islands around Florianópolis.
