The beach has almost two kilometers of loose sand with no bars on it. The great waves that sometimes break on the stones attract a lot of surfers. Close to this beach is also Lagoa do Peri (Peri’s Lagoon), with small beaches and trails, and the retreat of the Jesuits, old construction with an observatory where is possible to see beautiful scenarios, like the sea, where on its left side is Morro das Pedras beach and Campeche’s Island, and on its right side is Armação beach.

Morro das Pedras is a large beach, with strong waves, dangerous to bathe but ideal for surfing, that’s the main reason why this place is very sought for young people that practice this sport.

It has a great tourist infrastructure with hotels, restaurants and further more services. It starts at the tip of Morro das Pedras beach, that is made of a sequel of big rocks and when the waves break a lot of foam spreads around, providing a spectacle of strength and beauty.

In Morro das Pedras is also located Vila de Fátima (Fátima’s Village), a place build in 1954 made of rocks, property of Jesuits Priests, destined to religious meeting and seclusion. From Vila De Fátima is possible to get in touch with the exuberant nature of the hill, see different kinds of birds and enjoy Armação and Morro das Pedras beach.

Morro das Pedras beach belongs to Campeche district, 22 kilometers distant of Florianópolis’ center. It has 2.450 meters of extension and its width is from 5 to 45 meters.
