To get to this beach it is traveled 28 kilometers from the center until Ribeirão da Ilha and 12 extra kilometers by sand road until Caieira da Barra Sul. Then is necessary to walk 3 kilometers to arrive to the final destination, which corresponds to the extreme south of the island. Despite the effort the ride is pleasant. The name of the island corresponds to a wreck occurred there in 1715 with an azorean immigrates’ boat. With 500 meters extension of clear sand, is a beach with trembling sea and cold water. Very sought for those who enjoy camping and surfing. For those who rather some comfort, there is an access through the sea from Ribeirão da Ilha.
